Every good thing we receive in life has a source. For every blessing there is a ‘blessor’ and the one who receives the
blessing(s) can do one of two things; turn back and give thanks or walk on to the next watering hole. As we consider the greatness of our God and the enormous benefit we derive from having his name, let us reflect on some of his attributes and remember who we are dealing with. Isaiah an ancient prophet of the Lord puts it this way: “Why would you ever complain, O Jacob, or, whine, Israel, saying, “God has lost track of me. He doesn’t care what happens to me”? Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening? God doesn’t come and go. God lasts. He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath. And he knows everything, inside and out. He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind (Isaiah 40:27-31 The Message). Where Jacob and Israel is in the sentence put your name there, use both your names. The formal one and the one that only your closest friends know and remember that God know everything about you and he wants to lavish his blessings on you! So start your day by thanking him for everything, even the things you cannot see! Read Isaiah 40 and consider that the blessor is you friend.
