Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV).
Wisdom comes from understanding what God wants for you. The whole of humanity is searching for the elixir of life. And the perennial question that is asked is; why am I here and what is the meaning of life?
Without understanding that all of us are here for a reason and all of us have a purpose to fulfil, we will take wrong turnings and make wrong decisions, which will affect us for the rest of our lives. The writer of Proverbs tell us to trust in the Lord; Why? You may ask. Well, he was and is and will be. He is the all knowing all seeing God who is in control, although he gives us free choice! It is his will and his ways that dictates that we have great success in all that we do. Our ways are naturally rebellious.
The writer of proverbs knew this well. When he was chosen by God to be elevated, instead of asking for riches and power, he asked for wisdom and understanding. So he encourages us to trust in the Lord because our understanding is flawed. And ask him to show us the plain narrow path, because we will tend to go down the Broadway. Once we have understanding and knowledge that comes from God, then wealth, riches and influence will follow.
Today get it right. Lean on God, ask him what he would do in your position and then follow his leading. He will send the right person to speak the truth in your hearing and if you follow what you have heard, it will change your life.
